Wild about Wildlife: Zoos and Wildlife Sanctuaries on the Gold Coast
Gold Coast is one of Australia’s premiere holiday destinations for tourists around the world. Many visitors spend their vacation here because of the warm climate and its many exciting attractions, beautiful beaches, exciting Surfers Paradise and the many theme parks that dot the area.
Surfers Paradise offers pristine blue waters and fantastic waves while the theme parks give visitors young and old thrilling rollercoaster rides and spectacular shows. But if you have had enough of this, you’re tired of surfing and dizzy of the rides, the Gold Coast still has a lot more to offer! If you want to experience and discover biodiversity and nature at its best, you can visit the different zoos and wildlife sanctuaries on the Gold Coast.
From Chevron Towers Resort, you can take a drive to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, which is very near to the Gold Coast Airport. The sanctuary is set on a landscape of rainforests, bushes, together with other Australian floras. You can interact with different native faunas of Australia like the famous koalas, the brightly coloured lorikeet, kangaroos, local snakes and many others. You can also try the Extreme Green Challenge or have fun at Wild Island. Visitors can also witness the daily cultural shows from native Aborigines.
Another place to experience wildlife is the David Fleay Wildlife Park which is home to local faunas especially those who were displaced from their original habitats and are now considered endangered. It also serves as a breeding ground for threatened species such as platypus, dingoes, ospreys, some types of snakes and more. Other animals in the park include koalas, wallabies and different kinds of birds.
After all the fun, it is really wonderful to go back to a relaxing accommodation like at Chevron Towers Resort. You will have no trouble having an absolutely exciting holiday in the Gold Coast!
