A day at the beach while staying at Chevron Towers Resort
Chevron Towers Resort is located in Gold Coast, on the South East coast of Queensland, Australia. It can be very hot during summer in Chevron, but this is the ideal beach weather for a real beach holiday. Many people, though, still come here in spring or autumn when the weather isn’t so hot and humid. If ever you plan to go to the beach during summer, here are a few tips you should remember.
First, select the beach you want to visit before leaving your Chevron apartment. There are lots of beaches along the Gold Coast coastline, each offering a little more than the other, and you wouldn’t want to waste your time going over all the beaches to know which suits your taste. There are surf beaches, secluded beaches, fishing beaches and protected beaches with safe swimming spots for the kids.
Second, make sure your car is ready for the drive. If you are riding the shuttle bus provided for tourists, make sure you know what time your bus is leaving. If you plan to go to Surfers Paradise beach, it is just a short walk from Chevron Towers Resort.
Bottled Water: It is absolutely essential to bring bottled water, as this will keep you hydrated, especially when you start walking along the beaches, swimming, surfing or being active and playing games like beach cricket or beach volleyball. Avoid carbonated drinks as water is better to hydrate during hot summer days.
Sunscreen: Getting sunburned isn’t good for you, so don’t forget to bring sun protection for your entire body: hat, sunglasses, lip balm and SPF 45 sunscreen is recommended. The sun’s rays can be very sharp, and it can cause premature aging. On days when it is absolutely super hot and humid, you have to apply your SPF 45 sunscreen before going to the beach, and then re-apply every hour after that to your body.
Shade: Too much heat from the sun is known to have caused severe headaches and even sunstroke. Make sure you bring along your sunglasses and a hat to protect your eyes and face from all the UV. You can even bring your umbrella and use it while strolling along or sitting on the beach. Don’t worry if Australians aren’t too keen on using umbrellas – it is perfectly acceptable to use one.
