Checklist for touring the Gold Coast Hinterland
You feel tired and stressed out, and you are planning a vacation to the Gold Coast. The Gold Coast Hinterland is the best place to visit, to unwind and de –stress.
The Gold Coast Hinterland and many National Parks are located near your Chevron apartment. The Hinterland is mostly natural resources which lend themselves to be explored, including rainforests, mountain ranges, rivers and natural attractions such as the Natural Bridge.
You have to wear comfortable rubber shoes and jeans, and bring an extra shirt, depending if you will be coming in during summer, spring time or autumn. Take walking shoes if you plan on doing a bushwalk or take your swimmers if you plan on having a dip at one of the many swimming holes or rivers you come across.
Check at the Tour Desk in the Chevron Renaissance reception service area, and plan your National Park tours and trips in the hinterland.
What to bring in your bag:
Camera – absolutely necessary to capture the memories you would make from your travels through the beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland. Make sure that you have enough batteries, especially when you start hiking – it is during this time that you will find so much beautiful scenery.
Map – for easy navigation of the hinterlands. In case you lose your way, you can easily locate yourself by checking your map.
Flip-flops or rubber slippers – you can use this when you want to wade in the springs or have a snapshot on top of a huge stone. Take walking shoes if you plan to go hiking.
Sun protection – When it’s hot, bring some sun screen to block of the severe UV rays of the sun, in case you are caught in the hot midday summer sun. It is good to wear a hat and sunglasses too.
If you decide to stay overnight in the rain forest, you can stay in Lamington Park in O’Reilly Rainforest lodge. It doesn’t have telephones and television. It’s a place surrounded by subtropical rainforest. The lodge is already owned by the third generation O’Reilly’s. The first generation started up a dairy farm, and they privately own a place right in the middle of what is now considered to be Lamington National Park.
