Gold Coast surfing spots
After a grueling final exams week at university, I am dreaming of visiting Gold Coast surfing spots and taking a well deserved break. Chevron Towers Resort provides resort accommodation in Surfers Paradise located at the heart of the city, but has strategic connecting points to reach surfing destinations.
All you have to do is to check with the front desk service of which shuttles will take you to the different beaches.
Currumbin Beach, Greenmount or Coolangatta, Snapper/Rainbow, Burleigh and Kirra beaches are my top surfing choices. Though I am not yet a professional surfer, there are surfing schools at some of the beaches. You may place a reservation ahead of time, and the instructors are experienced and licensed surfers.
Before even going out of your Chevron Towers Resort apartment, be sure you have the complete list of what to bring for surfing. Though Chevron apartments are strategically located, it is a waste of time to go back to get what you have forgotten.
If you are surfing during summer time, don’t forget to bring in your sunscreen to protect yourself from the grueling heat of the sun. Sunscreens are good protection against sunburn and cancer. Be sure to buy with the grade SPF50.
When changing into your swimming suits for surfing, buy the ones that are steady and ready for stretching, and won’t tear when you are surfing in the waves. It has to protect your body while you are roving with your surf in the waves.
Bring extra warm clothes after surfing. After surfing, you will change with your dry clothes. Late afternoons can be very cool in the winter time.
Wet Suit Boots is needed, this will protect your feet while walking in the sand. Bring in big towels, packed lunches for diet…and the most important of all is a water proof camera, to take your snapshot to show off to your friends and the Chevron Towers Resort staff how you faired at surfing!
